Cold storage system GeoDoublet / Dorint Hotel

Dorint hotel has built a new hotel at the airport Schiphol on the location Schiphol East. This hotel is intended for passengers and staff of aviation companies and for businesses that want to use the conference rooms for symposiums, meetings, etc.

The hotel is equipped with a modern low-energy installation with a coldwater storage system that’s been implemented in the technical installation. Geocomfort is the supplier of this cold water storage system, which is a so-called GeoDoublet.

Quintess BV has developed de software in close consultation with GeoComfort BV. The system is set-up in such a manner, that it can be applied as a standard for several projects.

GeoComfort coldwater storage systems

GeoComfort BV is the supplier of the standard coldwater storage systems. Especially for the small and medium offices market, GeoComfort Ltd has developed a coldwater storage system which is an interesting alternative for mechanical cooling systems. A disadvantage of mechanical cooling systems is that they have a high energy usage. A coldwater storage system on the other hand has a much higher efficiency. The energy consumption is in general 25 x lower than for standard applied mechanical cooling systems.

BV has designed the control software for the coldwater storage systems from GeoComfort BV. The control strategy has been developed in close corporation with GeoComfort BV and contains a number of special features which make it possible to exploit the energy flows in the most optimal way possible.

Office Dura Vermeer, Helmond

Quintess BV has engineered the control software for the new office building for Dura Vermeer underground infra BV. The air treatment installation is cooled by means of a coldwater storage system, a so-called GeoMini. This GeoMini is a new design by GeoComfort BV, where Dura Vermeer underground infra Ltd has a participation in. Together with GeoComfort BV this new concept for a coldwater storage system was tested.

The air treatment installation ensures the loading of the coldwater storage system in the winter period and the cooling of the office in the summer.

The GeoMini is a spin-off product of the GeoThermic wherefore Quintess BV has also developed the control software in close corporation with this company. The GeoMini is a coldwater storage system for minor users such as small offices and apartment bldg.
